Life and Times of the Fireflies: DIY Bridal Shower

Planning a wedding can be quite exciting....But planning a wedding in a short space of time is undoubtedly STRESSFUL!! With only 12 days left to my sister's wedding, the list of things to do is never ending. And add wedding chores to the already long list of Mommy duties, then you can imagine what this last lap before the big day is looking like!

But even with such little time between the engagement and the pending wedding day, Matron of Honour (self-proclaimed) duties would be incomplete without hosting a Bridal Shower for the blushing bride-to-be. I thought a mini break filled with girly fun would be a welcomed reprieve from the long list of chores still to be done!

Hosting parties is not like it used to be! There's so much more attention paid to the décor, fun games and finer details, some people even going as far as hiring venues and events coordinator's! Us sisters decided to plan and host things ourselves. I figured, between the four of us, we have enough expertise to start our own events company! Although ideas were plenty, our time was short (with only a week to plan) and we were unable to execute the millions of ideas spinning around in our heads. The great thing is that we have a new recruitment in the form of my daughter, who very enthusiastically helped with the DIY boards and charts! Makes me think their might be a future for mom and daughter in the events business after all ;-)

All in all, it was a fun afternoon spent in the company of close family and friends. Lots of giggles and laughs, some naughty gifts and games, and fantastic memories made! Hoping the next few days speed by and the wedding festivities all go off without a hitch!
